When I travelled to Australia the first time in my 20's I travelled with the frame of mind that it was a once in a lifetime trip. I made the most of my 3 months and took in a lot of the country. However it turns out it wasn't a once in a lifetime trip.
This Friday I take off for Australia for the second time. This time it will be for 3 weeks and with a bit better budget than the first time. As well it is with a different mindset because I see myself visiting Australia again in the future. One of the draws to Australia now is the fact that I have made many Australian friends living in London and most of them seem to find their way back home eventually.
On this trip I have a reunion planned with my elementary school best friend who moved to Australia when she was 15 and thanks to Facebook we have reconnected. We have a lot to catch up on. As well a week of our trip will be spent with my good friend and ex flatmate Annie in the Brisbane area.
It is Nathan's first time to Australia and I look forward to exploring with him and seeing things (like his first live Kangaroo in the wild) through his first timer eyes.
So get ready for some travel posts there will be a lot to write about!
