Sorry for the quiet spell here on Bluenose Girl, I’ve spent December finishing up and saying good-bye to everyone at Sky Sports. Then, with no break in between, I found myself at my new job getting my head wrapped around my new company and new position. While among that I’ve attended Christmas parties in London, been down to Devon for Christmas festivities and now I’m off to Amsterdam for New Years celebrations!
This is the time of year for reflection, looking back since I started Bluenose Girl in April 2011 there have been many changes in layout and focus. I found I enjoy writing most about Travel, Nova Scotia, London, Expat experiences, with the occasional gadget and coffee ramble, which is what you will find more of here in 2012.
This year I travelled my home province of Nova Scotia seeing it through the eyes of a British tourist when N and I travelled there in October. It was confirmed and cemented in my mind what a special part of the world Nova Scotia really is. I have been pleased to see it getting the recognition it deserves of late with mentions by Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel: Top 10 Regions for 2012, putting the Maritimes on the list at #7, as well in the latest issue of National Geographic Traveller (Jan/Feb 2012) there is a lovely 5 page spread on the Maritime including Nova Scotia.
Also things have started ramping up travel wise for me, so there are sure to be many more travel related posts here on Bluenose Girl. Amazing travel opportunity, is one of the reasons I wanted to move to London and 2012 looks like it will be a bumper year for travelling and exploring.
I hope you all had a great 2011 and are looking forward to 2012 as much as I am! I would also like to say a big thank you to my many cat/flat sitters that look after my kitty while I am away.
